The 11 Most Caffeinated Drinks at Starbucks

By Admin September 23, 2021

At this point, Starbucks and coffee are almost synonymous. It has taken over the market by storm and none of us mind. Their drinks are tasty and addicting. So much so, that we start needing more and more caffeine to satisfy the craving. Lucky for you, we have compiled a list of the most caffeinated drinks Starbucks has to offer.

Here are the top 10 most caffeinated drinks in order from least caffeinated to most caffeinated:

**Each of the caffeine measurements is for a grande size cup.

1. Flat White

Flat white is a classic drink. It comes in at 195 mg of caffe. This is a decent amount compared to everyday coffee or iced coffee. Flat whites are made up of espresso and steamed milk. They are simple and to the point and give the same impact as a shot of espresso with a bit of milk to smoothen it out.

2. Cold Brew with Cold Foam

You cannot go wrong with cold brew. This drink is smooth, sweet, and cold. The three best mixes for coffee. Not to forget the cold foam addition that gives it a creamy touch with each sip. Coming in at 205 mg, it’s a solid middle ground leaving room for an optional second coffee later on in the day.

3. Cafe Americano

Ranking at the same amount of caffeine overall is the next two drinks. They come to 255 mg of caffeine. An americano is made up of espresso and water. This gives the espresso a bit of a calmer appeal and waters the bitterness down a bit.

4. Latte Macchiato

A latte macchiato is made of espresso with aerated milk and gives a creamier finish. It also comes to 255 mg while leaning towards a milk heavy drink rather than water.

5. Blond Flat White

Also ranking at the same amount of caffeine as number three, we have two blonde options. Blonde essentially is the style of roast used. Coming in at 255 mg, you can try a flat white with an extra punch if the standard flat white doesn’t have enough caffeine for you.

6. Featured Dark Roast Brewed Coffee

Getting higher in caffeine, we have a brewed coffee to switch it up at 260 mg. This drink will have the well-known attributes of a classic cup of coffee and a great warm beverage for fall or winter. It also is a middle ground in terms of brewed caffeine levels, surprisingly. It only gets more intense from here.

7. Nitro Cold Brew with Sweet Cream

The next three are relatively the same drink with a hint of differences in the foam or cream. This version has 265 mg of caffeine. The biggest component of this drink is the nitro addition. Cold-brew alone is already quite intense as far as caffeine goes, so nitro put it in turbo drive.

8. Nitro Cold Brew with Cascara Cold Foam

With just 5 more mg of caffeine, the Cascara Cold Foam Nitro has a total of 270 mg. This small difference might not be a huge caffeine difference, but can be a great flavor change.

9. Nitro Cold Brew Extra Creamy

Adding 10 more mg of caffeine, try ordering a nitro cold brew “extra creamy”. It comes to 280 mg of caffeine. This is a guaranteed yummy treat.

10. Pike Place Roast Brewed Coffee

Back to hot coffee, the Pike Roast has a grand total of 310 mg of caffeine. This hot coffee is full of kick and sure to be a great option for cold weather. Be careful to monitor yourself when you move into this high amount of caffeine.

11. Blonde Roast Brewed Coffee

Last but not least, the blonde roast has 360 mg of caffeine. That is a LOT of caffeine. Check out the info below to learn a bit more about this option.

If you’re looking for some versatility on the menu, here are the highest caffeinated drinks from Starbucks for each style:

Tea

While it is definitely not as intense as coffee, tea does contain a decent amount of caffeine at times. The most caffeinated tea Starbucks offers is the Iced Chai Tea Latte. This comes to 95 mg of caffeine which is quite a bit more than the average tea caffeine. Give this a shot next time you want to switch it up from everyday coffee.

Frappuccino

Coming in at 100 mg of coffee, try an espresso frappuccino. This cold treat might not be as crazy as some of the top 10, but it’s got the most for its section, so if you’re not getting enough kick from your normal frappe, this might be the perfect solution.

Cold Coffee

Nitro Cold Brew comes in at the top with 280 mg of caffeine. This is intense stuff, so be careful making the dramatic leap. However, cold brew is naturally sweeter than drip coffee, so although there is a lot of caffeine, there is not nearly as much bitterness as other highly caffeinated beverages. This drink is caffeine in disguise, so be sure to monitor yourself.

Hot Coffee

As you saw above, coming in at the highest overall in caffeine is the brewed coffee: blonde roast. This comes to a whopping 360 mg of caffeine! It’s safe to say that this drink will hold you over throughout the day and then some. Blonde roasts of any kind have a much higher caffeine amount, so if you’re looking for high caffeine, go blonde.
