Who is the Farberware Yosemite Percolator For?

The Farberware Yosemite Percolator is for anyone looking for a classic, wallet-friendly stovetop percolator. We purchased the 12-cup model, but it is available with an 8-cup capacity as well.

If you prefer an electric model, we recommend the Farberware 12-Cup Electric Percolator. However, the stovetop version has a lot to offer.

At a glance, this percolator is made from durable stainless steel and has a sturdy lid with a clear glass knob. Question is – does it work as well as it looks?

What Makes This Percolator Special?

This classic percolator packs many great features all at an affordable price. For starters, this stovetop model is very easy to clean. It features a permanent filter basket that eliminates the need for messy paper coffee filters. Because it’s fully immersible and dishwasher safe, you won’t need to spend any time handwashing this coffee maker.

However, some people prefer to hand wash their appliances. We found our hands easily fit in this percolator making it quick and easy to clean thoroughly. Being able to clean from top to bottom is so important because you don’t want to brew fresh grounds with leftover coffee from the night before.

Why Should I Buy This Percolator?

This percolator is one of the more affordable models on the market. It did a decent job brewing cups full of rich, strong coffee. It is available in 8 or 12 cup capacities.

We suggest sizing up because depending on the cup size you use for your coffee, you may not be getting a complete 8 or 12 cups. Also, sometimes manufacturers use a smaller cup measurement, meaning you won’t get a full 8 or 12 servings. To be safe, we suggest you go with the 12-cup capacity.

Along with the generous capacity, we noticed the construction of this appliance was robust. We see it withstanding both the indoors and outdoors for many years. Being a stovetop model, it’s a great option if you spend a lot of time outdoors. All you need is a flame and you’ll be crafting great coffee in no time.

Our team found this percolator very easy to use from start to finish. The comfortable handle offered a very firm grip and the tight-fitting lid did a nice job sealing in the heat. This model doesn’t offer a ready-to-serve indicator light (most stovetop models don’t). However, because the lid is clear you can see exactly when the percolating starts and stops.

We recommend investing in this model if you’re looking for a functional coffee maker with a classic design.

Our Verdict

Farberware has been an iconic brand since 1900 and they didn’t fall short in quality or looks with the Yosemite 12-Cup Percolator. We recommend this product for anyone who wants a quality stovetop percolator at a low price. Enjoying cups full of rich, strong coffee is only a click away.
