De’Longhi is a widely known Italian brand founded in 1902. The quality of their products plays a massive role in their worldwide success. While historically they’re known as a significant provider of portable heaters and AC units, this same company also makes robust coffee makers!

In this review, we will share what we thought of the DeLonghi EMK6 Alicia Moka Pot. It is a modernized version of Bialietti’s (Moka pot inventor) original espresso machine, so we were excited to test it out.

Who is the De’Longhi EMK6 Moka Pot For?

The De’Longhi Alicia coffee pot is great for users who are looking for a moka pot that looks like a traditional Bialetti trademark but with added functionality. The base is highlighted with a beautiful matte black finish (except for the button, which is surrounded by a silver layer).

It offers a compact design with a standing dimension of 10.4 x 8.1 x 5.5 inches. This is great for users that want to maximize their countertop space. It’s also very lightweight (2 pounds), meaning you can easily transport it from place to place if you wish.

What Makes This Moka Pot Special?

At first glance, this moka pot looks just like a traditional stovetop espresso maker. However, it’s an easy to operate electric moka pot that can make anywhere from 3-6 cups of rich espresso. It has a transparent plastic top that allowed us to watch over the entire brewing process.

The illuminated push-button notified us of when the unit was in action. Consequently, the keep warm function kept our brew warm for 30-minutes. This perk is well worth it since many models only retain heat for a few minutes, leaving you with cold espresso.

Forget to turn it off before heading out for the day? No worries! The automatic shutoff feature makes sure your device turns off once your coffee is done brewing. This is great not only from a safety perspective but also to prevent your brew from burning.

Why Should I Buy This Moka Pot?

The De’Longhi EMK6 is so easy to use! Simply fill the aluminum boiler with water, add some ground coffee to the filter, attach the coffee container to the base, plug it in, and let it get to work. We noticed this model doesn’t overheat and pouring a hot cup of joe was easy.

Safety is obviously important when dealing with hot drinks. The two-way safety feature found within this model is one of its best assets. Traditional moka pots require lots of supervision. You want to make sure the units don’t overheat or burn your skin when handled. The EMK6 has a sensor that turns off when coffee is ready. This means it won’t overheat or overflow. The aluminum boiler will also shut off if you lift the plastic carafe.

Our Verdict

The Delonghi EMK6 Moka Pot did not disappoint us in terms of functionality, looks, or ease of use. While we have only had this model for a few weeks, several owners claim they’ve had this unit for many years and never had any problems whatsoever.

We are huge fans of Delonghi and if you aren’t one already, we guarantee you will be after trying this hot appliance. Get your hands on the Delonghi Alicia Moka Pot today and start experiencing rich, strong coffee within minutes.
