Cuisinart has come a long way since its founding in 1971. They have dedicated themselves to bringing homeowners quality kitchen appliances, including the famous coffee maker.

Our team recently enjoyed reviewing their line of coffee makers, among them the Cuisinart SS-10. This unit is a popular alternative to mid-range Keurig products since they use single cup pods.

Is this appliance one we would recommend? Read this Cuisinart SS-10 review to find out!

Who is the Cuisinart SS-10 Coffee Maker For?

The Cuisinart SS10 is for coffee lovers looking for a quality single-serve brewer that offers speed, flavor, and convenience. What Makes This Coffee Maker Special?

When compared to other brewers in this class, this coffee maker offers more programmability. You can easily manage settings through the LCD display. It has a 24-hour clock and is fully programmable. This means you can adjust the temperature, program the auto on/off feature, and select your brewing options.

Here are some additional benefits we came across when reviewing the Cuisinart SS10:

  • – Brewing Options. You will have the option of using single-serve pods or ground coffee – whichever you prefer.
  • – Hot Water Button. Need some hot water for your tea or cocoa? The Hot Water button offers just this.
  • – Versatility. Users will have 5 brew size options to choose from (4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 ounces). Trust us – this is enough even for heavy coffee drinkers.
  • – Large Capacity. The water reservoir allows up to 72 ounces of water. This means there are plenty of brews before it is time to refill.

Most of this machine is made from BPA-free plastic. It offers little stainless steel components, meaning the lifespan is likely to be shorter than other similar options.

However, we only tried this coffee maker for a few weeks and didn’t experience any issues with “plastic” tastes or anything of that sort. Users that have had this unit for longer haven’t either, leading us to believe you won’t experience the same issues other plastic products bring. Definitely a plus!

Why Should I Buy This Coffee Maker?

This coffee maker gives you the option of using single-use pods (K-cup) or ground coffee. Cuisinart mentions that this brewer is compatible with any brand of single-cup pods. To clarify this, we found this unit works with any Keurig compatible brand of single-cup pods, therefore, any pod that uses the K-Cup design will work just fine.

Moreover, you will receive the HomeBarista Reusable Filter Cup. You can use this small gadget for either coffee grounds or loose tea. If you’re someone who prefers fresh coffee or a low-waste lifestyle, you’ll like the option of using this filter cup.

Our Verdict

There is a lot to love about this single-serve brewer. It has a large 72-ounce water reservoir, lets you brew tea, coffee, or hot cocoa, and the rinse feature cleans the inside of the chamber after each brew.

While we’d prefer this unit to have more stainless-steel components, we will say that the programmable features and versatility make up for the material.

We recommend the Cuisinart SS10 Coffee Maker to anyone who wants the option of pod brewing and ground coffee, along with the ability to adjust the temperature and size of each cup.
