Compak was founded in 1952 by coffee aficionado Jesus Ascaso. His main goal was to offer a coffee grinder that was both easy to use and functional. He achieved this through his wide series of Compak coffee grinders, among them the K10 Polished Espresso Machine.

At a glance, we couldn’t help but notice the large size of this appliance. Sitting at a size of 8.5” (W) x 14.5” (D) x 25” (H), it was clear this machine is designed with the professional barista in mind. Even then, our team wanted to test the waters and see if this would be a commercial espresso grinder we’d recommend.

Who is the Compak K10 Espresso Grinder For?

The face of this machine says it all. It reads, ‘Professional Barista,’ hinting it’s designed for coffee shops. After testing, we are here to say we wouldn’t recommend this grinder for personal use (unless you need a machine that can handle 35-40 pounds of coffee beans every hour!). If you’re the owner of a busy cafe or a professional barista, this grinder is for you.

What Makes This Espresso Grinder Special?

The Compak K10 has a large motor, 68mm conical steel burrs, a 3.75 bean capacity, and fast grinding times. Naturally, we expected it to get hot after some use, but we used this big boy all week long and didn’t notice any overheating. In fact, it ran cooler than its counterparts.

If you’re the owner of a busy coffee shop, know that the typical grind time for 20 grams of coffee is 5-7 seconds. The cooling system includes a fan so you can ensure it remains cool as you grind beans. This powerful machine can handle 35-39 pounds per hour, the best part being it doesn’t sacrifice quality, taste, or aroma throughout the process.

Let us also point out that the coffee grounds tray design offers a neat benefit. The front is open, allowing for quick and easy cleaning. This means you won’t have to remove the tray from the grinder to empty as you do in other models. When it was time to empty the bin, all we had to do was hold up a small trash can to the front and sweep the remaining coffee with a brush.

Why Should I Buy The Compak K10 Espresso Grinder?

If you’re looking for power, speed, and quality, this is the grinder for you. The Compak K10 is well-built, and after using it, we don’t see why this appliance wouldn’t last you a good 15-20 years.

Aside from its sturdy build, the doser allows for easy distribution and offers full control of the dose. This isn’t ideal for someone who needs single dosing; however, shop owners will benefit from the doser since it will allow them to adjust as needed. They can make a large amount of pre-ground coffee without having to stop to grind coffee for each individual shot.

Finally, you need this appliance in your cafe if you want to offer customers authentic espresso. We were impressed with the freshness of the grind, but even more so the quality of the taste. Whether you want to serve one shot of espresso or make a flavorful macchiato, the Compak K10 makes this and more possible.

Our Verdict

Not only will the Compak K10 Espresso Grinder look great in your kitchen, but it will also produce large batches of espresso in seconds. It’s a big yes from our team, and we are sure it will be from you too. Try it today!
