What Makes the Baratza Forte Coffee Grinder Special?

AP stands for “All Purpose,” and this machine will do exactly that. You’ll receive anything from French Press to espresso. Baratza designed this to be an upgrade from the praiseworthy Baratza Vario. It’s a commercial-grade grinder designed with metal casing all around for extreme durability.

We discovered a total of three methods to grind coffee beans:

  • – Time-Based. If you want to run the Forte for a specific amount of time, you can do so by pressing “Time” and selecting your desired time.
  • – Weight-Based. This coffee grinder has a digital scale built into it that works with the coffee bin and the portaholder. To use, press “Weight” on the digital screen, and the amount of grounds will be displayed in grams.
  • – Manual Mode. You can also use this grinder manually by pressing the “M” button and following instructions. When you’ve reached the desired amount of ground coffee, press “Stop.”

If you wish, you can also program up to 3 settings. This will save you time from having to set grind settings every time. We highly recommend this if you have a few go-to drinks.

Why Should I Buy the Baratza Forte Coffee Grinder?

This machine comes with 54mm flat ceramic burrs and a 10-ounce capacity bean hopper. It has a macro switch that detects whether the hopper is secured onto the machine. If it’s not, it won’t run.

The Baratza Forte grinder works very quickly and goes very coarse. We used coarse grounds for French Press, medium-sized grounds for drip or pour-over, and very fine espresso grounds. It did an amazing job grinding coffee beans evenly.

Let’s not leave without talking about the fast grind speed of the Baratza Forte. It can grind 2.0 to 3.7 grams per second. Fast, right? We could not believe how much faster this machine is than others in its class. You can also rest assured the high-torque motor won’t burn your beans in the process.

And finally, Baratza advises cleaning this machine every few months. To do so, you want to remove the burrs using the removal tool. We found it easy to use and are sure you will too.

Our Verdict

The Baratza Forte AP is very well constructed and comes with the portaholder, portafilter, weight bin, calibration tool, and more. You get both ends of the spectrum with this grinder, whether you want brewed coffee or espresso. Make this commercial-grade all-purpose grinder yours today!
